Day Master
Bing Fire is the yang polarity of Fire. Your Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of your day pillar — the character in your chart that stands for you, and the reference point every other character in the chart is measured against.
| Element | Fire |
|---|---|
| Polarity | Yang |
| Stem | 丙 · Bing |
| Position in the ten stems | 3 of 10 |
Each of the ten stems stands in one fixed relationship to yours. That relationship is the stem’s Ten God, and it is what the reading is built on — the same rule the reports use.
| Stem | Element | Ten God | Leading Role name |
|---|---|---|---|
| 甲 Jia | Yang Wood | Indirect Resource | The Visionary |
| 乙 Yi | Yin Wood | Direct Resource | The Scholar |
| 丙 Bing | Yang Fire | Friend | The Independent |
| 丁 Ding | Yin Fire | Rob Wealth | The Kingmaker |
| 戊 Wu | Yang Earth | Eating God | The Creator |
| 己 Ji | Yin Earth | Hurting Officer | The Maverick |
| 庚 Geng | Yang Metal | Indirect Wealth | The Entrepreneur |
| 辛 Xin | Yin Metal | Direct Wealth | The Provider |
| 壬 Ren | Yang Water | Seven Killings | The Vanguard |
| 癸 Gui | Yin Water | Direct Officer | The Statesman |
Every Earthly Branch hides one to three stems. Those hidden stems are read against your Day Master in exactly the same way, which is how a branch comes to carry a Ten God.

Your Day Master comes from the day you were born, not the year, and it needs the correct date and place to compute. It is not the same as your Chinese zodiac animal, which comes from the year.
