Pillar 53 of 60
Bing Chen pairs the yang Fire stem Bing with the Earth branch Dragon. A pillar can sit in any of the four positions of a chart — year, month, day or hour — and what it means depends on which.
Read as a day pillar, Bing is the Day Master and the stems hidden in Dragon become its Ten Gods.
| Hidden stem | Element | Ten God to Bing |
|---|---|---|
| 戊 Wu | Yang Earth | Eating God · The Creator |
| 乙 Yi | Yin Wood | Direct Resource · The Scholar |
| 癸 Gui | Yin Water | Direct Officer · The Statesman |
| Branch clash | Dog |
|---|---|
| Six combination | Rooster — to Metal |
| Trine | Monkey, Rat, Dragon — Water |
A year pillar is only one of four. Your day pillar — the one that carries your Day Master — needs your birth date, and the hour pillar needs your birth time.
