Pillar 17 of 60
Geng Chen pairs the yang Metal stem Geng with the Earth branch Dragon. A pillar can sit in any of the four positions of a chart — year, month, day or hour — and what it means depends on which.
| Stem | Geng Metal 庚 · Yang |
|---|---|
| Branch | Dragon 辰 · Earth |
| Direction | Southeast |
| Hours | 7–9am |
Read as a day pillar, Geng is the Day Master and the stems hidden in Dragon become its Ten Gods.
| Hidden stem | Element | Ten God to Geng |
|---|---|---|
| 戊 Wu | Yang Earth | Indirect Resource · The Visionary |
| 乙 Yi | Yin Wood | Direct Wealth · The Provider |
| 癸 Gui | Yin Water | Hurting Officer · The Maverick |
| Branch clash | Dog |
|---|---|
| Six combination | Rooster — to Metal |
| Trine | Monkey, Rat, Dragon — Water |
A year pillar is only one of four. Your day pillar — the one that carries your Day Master — needs your birth date, and the hour pillar needs your birth time.
