Pillar 2 of 60
Yi Chou pairs the yin Wood stem Yi with the Earth branch Ox. A pillar can sit in any of the four positions of a chart — year, month, day or hour — and what it means depends on which.
Read as a day pillar, Yi is the Day Master and the stems hidden in Ox become its Ten Gods.
| Hidden stem | Element | Ten God to Yi |
|---|---|---|
| 己 Ji | Yin Earth | Indirect Wealth · The Entrepreneur |
| 癸 Gui | Yin Water | Indirect Resource · The Visionary |
| 辛 Xin | Yin Metal | Seven Killings · The Vanguard |
| Branch clash | Goat |
|---|---|
| Six combination | Rat — to Earth |
| Trine | Snake, Rooster, Ox — Metal |
A year pillar is only one of four. Your day pillar — the one that carries your Day Master — needs your birth date, and the hour pillar needs your birth time.
