Pillar 47 of 60
Geng Xu pairs the yang Metal stem Geng with the Earth branch Dog. A pillar can sit in any of the four positions of a chart — year, month, day or hour — and what it means depends on which.
| Stem | Geng Metal 庚 · Yang |
|---|---|
| Branch | Dog 戌 · Earth |
| Direction | Northwest |
| Hours | 7–9pm |
Read as a day pillar, Geng is the Day Master and the stems hidden in Dog become its Ten Gods.
| Hidden stem | Element | Ten God to Geng |
|---|---|---|
| 戊 Wu | Yang Earth | Indirect Resource · The Visionary |
| 辛 Xin | Yin Metal | Rob Wealth · The Kingmaker |
| 丁 Ding | Yin Fire | Direct Officer · The Statesman |
| Branch clash | Dragon |
|---|---|
| Six combination | Rabbit — to Fire |
| Trine | Tiger, Horse, Dog — Fire |
A year pillar is only one of four. Your day pillar — the one that carries your Day Master — needs your birth date, and the hour pillar needs your birth time.
