Pillar 42 of 60
Yi Si pairs the yin Wood stem Yi with the Fire branch Snake. A pillar can sit in any of the four positions of a chart — year, month, day or hour — and what it means depends on which.
Read as a day pillar, Yi is the Day Master and the stems hidden in Snake become its Ten Gods.
| Hidden stem | Element | Ten God to Yi |
|---|---|---|
| 丙 Bing | Yang Fire | Hurting Officer · The Maverick |
| 戊 Wu | Yang Earth | Direct Wealth · The Provider |
| 庚 Geng | Yang Metal | Direct Officer · The Statesman |
| Branch clash | Pig |
|---|---|
| Six combination | Monkey — to Water |
| Trine | Snake, Rooster, Ox — Metal |
A year pillar is only one of four. Your day pillar — the one that carries your Day Master — needs your birth date, and the hour pillar needs your birth time.
